01Who is responsible

Nomad Studio SA (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for personal information collected through Zali POS. Our Information Officer can be reached at support@zalipos.co.za or at 134 River Rd, Khayalami Heights, Midrand, Johannesburg, 1684.

02What we collect

  • Business and owner details: names, ID or registration numbers, contact details and banking details.
  • Transaction data: sale amounts, dates, items sold and masked card details.
  • Website and app data: device type, pages visited and cookies.
  • Your customers' details, where you choose to capture them in ZALIPOS, for example for loyalty.

03How we use it

  • To verify your business and open your merchant account.
  • To process payments and pay out your money.
  • To provide support, training and service updates.
  • To prevent fraud and meet our legal and card scheme obligations.
  • To send product news, only where you have agreed and with a way to opt out every time.

04Who we share it with

We share information only with partners who need it to provide the service, under written agreements that require them to protect it: our acquiring bank and card schemes, payment partners such as Payfast and Ozow, cloud hosting providers, and couriers who deliver your hardware. We never sell personal information.

05Card data

Card numbers are captured and encrypted by our certified payment partners at the moment of payment. Zali POS does not store full card numbers.

06How long we keep it

We keep records for as long as your account is open and afterwards for as long as the law requires, typically five years for financial records under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act.

07Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies to work, and analytics cookies to understand how it is used. You can block cookies in your browser; some parts of the site may not work as expected.

08Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, and withdraw consent for marketing.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

09Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes will be emailed to merchants.
